Deep Learning Indaba 2025 took place at the University of Rwanda in Kigali from 17 to 22 August. Its theme, Urunana, expressed a collective approach to strengthening artificial intelligence in Africa and connecting the continent’s research community.
The programme combined keynote talks, tutorials, panels and research presentations with opportunities for collaboration. Workshops on 21–22 August explored specialised areas including health, climate, business and finance, robotics, African data and human–AI interaction. The event brought together learning and research exchange, supporting participants working on AI methods and applications relevant to African communities.
